I think you will find it hard to mod anything on MP3, well at least online. On release day they released a patch which overrides most of the files in the main RPF so most of what you change will have no effect in game, your best bet is to download the latest patch and open it to find out which files will be overridden then work around them. I believe there was one method in gta which required you to rename some files (so the patched ones would no override it) but I think for that to work you'll need to re-write scripts.

Well that's a start. What file did you modify and did you test it in MP?
Modifying the power of weapons will only ever affect the person with the mods, everyone else in multi player pulls values from their own files.

No one that I know of has successfully edited one of the scripts.

They are the .xsc files, you won't find any info on them as anyone who has analysed them has kept it mostly private. There's a post or 2 on my blog if you have a look but not much else.

I made it by moving the cheat menu over to the options screen in the XML files. And no you can't add/modify them as they are built in to the scripts which you can't modify.

I've been working on a update to RPFTool the past couple of days to support the rebuilding of RDR archives, this includes replacing a file with a new one of any size and the deletion of other files, there is currently NO way to add files, there's still several unknowns which I need to try and work out before this is possible.
I currently don't have access to an Xbox on which to test so I can't say whether rebuilding will actually work or not at the moment which is why I need a couple of people to try it out. If you're interested just say so below and I'll contact you with details. Once I've got enough people (only need 1 or 2 at the moment) I'll lock the thread.

when you say 'Max Payne 3 as well' are you saying the other games RDR & MC don't work either? clearly the mp3 side of things is broken at the moment so you will have to wait until I get round to fixing it which isn't high up on my list to do as you can just make rpf3 archives using openiv instead for the time being.

Maybe, its more likely that the change you're making is causing an exception in the game and causing it to freeze.

This is because the files are getting overridden by the ones in the patch, you can check which ones these are by downloading the latest update and opening it with wxpirs.

I managed to get some god mode mods working before the official release but they patched the more important files right on release day.
