Input, Mappings & Controls
4.Settings
This section covers the Settings section of the Controls window.
Settings
The controller settings area is split into 2 sections – Global Settings and Profile Settings.
Global Settings apply across all profiles and configs and Profile Settings only apply to the current profile.
Profile Settings
Anti-detection
- Keyboard/Mouse Anti-detection – This setting enables/disables the built in anti keyboard/mouse detection, it will hide the remapped input from games such as Fortnite that attempt to detect keyboard/mouse input and restrict you from playing with players using controllers.
Microphone (REM4P PS4 Only)
This section allows the setting of a mic hotkey, when used in combination with the official Remote Play application it adds the ability to control mic output via Remote Play so you can push-to-talk or toggle the mic on/off.
IMPORTANT NOTE: In order for this to work correctly you must launch Remote Play then uncross the mic icon in the Remote Play toolbar, if you don’t do this first the hotkey and settings will have no effect.
- Mic Hotkey – This functions the same as any other mapping in REM4P, simply map the key you wish to use to control mic output.
- Hotkey Toggles Mic – This setting controls whether the hotkey toggles mic output or requires the hotkey to be held down for the mic to be enabled.
- Mic active on start – This setting controls whether the mic is active upon REM4P activation. If enabled the mic will be active when the input hotkey is activated.
Global Settings
Device Settings
- Steam Controller USB Support – This setting controls built in support for the Steam Controller, when enabled it will bypass all steam support and allow direct mapping to the controller. This improves latency but at the cost of losing the Steam controller config and associated settings.
- Dualshock 4 USB support – This setting controls built in support for the Dualshock 4 Controller, when enabled it will allow support for non-generic functions of the controller such as the Touchpad. When disabled the controller will be treated the same as a standard controller.
Input System (REPL4Y &REM4P PS4 Only)
REM4P PC has to intercept keyboard & mouse input at a very low level (to stop the game receiving it) so only raw input is available.
This setting controls how input is received, by default Raw Input is used as it offers the fastest response and avoids modification of input data. However, it does not support software based input such as macros and scripting software like AutoHotkey. Depending on your requirements, if you need to use software input it is suggested to use Mixed mode where possible and then Windows Events as a last resort.
- Raw Input – Default and best option but only accepts input from real hardware.
- Mixed – This is a optimal mix of Raw Input for mouse and Windows Events for keyboard input. Should allow for keyboard based macros and remote input.
- Windows Events – The least optimal but allows for software based input of both keyboard and mouse. It is not advised to use this as it will affect the mouse input acceleration and will likely make 1:1 input impossible.
