OK, but again, what does that have to do with you dropping frames and latency on Remote Play?

The only reason you would drop frames or have a high latency is either you don't meet the required specifications and your pc can't keep up with the network streaming and processing or you have a network issue like interference or poor hardware that can't handle the data throughput.

precisely. I never had any issues on RP with my PS4 aside from bugs back then in the early stage but well, that's why it's the early Stage.

But why should they 😋. Dualstacklite is nothing more than you share your ipv4 adress with other people.

Maybe they'll add the ipv6 support in the ps5.

Maybe because of the p2p nature of their online gaming?

Somebody needs an incoming ip to be the host. If everyone is on carrier-nat nobody can really be the host.

  3. actually, there is a BIG difference.

IPv4 needs port forwarding because of how NAT works (1 IP for the whole network and the router Translates between the public IPv4 and the local IPv4s inside the network.)

in IPv6 each Device has its own public IP (or even multiple of them), and therefore no "port forwarding" is needed, just a hole in all the firewalls the device is sitting behind (mainly the router), and I am totally able to do that.

Compare it with a ps4 sitting directly behind a modem without a router but just a firewall.

DualStack Lite basically means, you dont get your "own" IPv4, but you have a full public IPv6 subnet.

Normal Dualstack means, you have BOTH an IPv4 to use completely AND an IPv6 subnet.

  4. it's a BIT more complicated than that.

That so called "DualStack Lite" or "Carrier-Grade NAT" Bullshit means I use an ip of the provider to go into the internet, but I cant do portforwarding etc, because even the router doesnt have the IP but sits behind it.

to compare it to remote controlling a computer
that basically means if a device maintains connection to an outside server I can get in via that lane (similar to for example teamviewer) but I cant get in by myself (for example VNC or RDP), because that would need portforwarding.

I can help with IPv6 testing though.

  5. True that it may degrade some parts, but depending on the game or stuff you wanna do delays may not be as much of an issue as e.g. abysmal image quality, also sometimes the test may have an issue (e.g. temporary stress on the switch/router, which can degrade the results, while the connection still is okay for the most parr)

so not only are they essential but they reduce manual configuration and help stream stability.

I hope you can still override the automatic stream quality if you want (e.g. by doing the test but bot caring about the results), or does the ps4 not allow that?

  7. @sarmad if you read the first post properly then you would know that if you meet the requirements and drop a message here asking nicely for it then you have a chance to be selected for beta testing. Although we already have a few people in, I dont know if or when Twisted will add more people. too many testers makes it hard to read all the feedback so it makes sense to keep the numbers low at the beginning, we dont need like 3 thousand times the message that one or another feature doesnt work or whatever, RPPC has been a very limited run at the beginning as well, just so you know.

This always has been a quite vocal community after all.

Will there be moga controller support on future android version? Pleeease.

he just unlocks the official app for usage with any android. and especially because the app is heavily obfuscated, he cant just add support for some controllers.

  9. when he wants testing he will ask in the chat or on twitter whether someone has time to test , so you dont need to tell that in advance. if you are there you can test and if not then he' will, if there arent any major bugs, release it in the next few hours or so.

  10. well maybe the actual system of the software as it is now cannot be done with hw encoding, just a guess

also if that is the case he would have to make the rewrite with the new stuff.

and even though you want to stream and for some or another reason need hw encoding for that (my not so good laptop can run RPPC with software encoding fine, so you might just have a really weak PC) but as you said there are capture card and while they are expensive they exist and their output is also probably far better than remote play because it directly catches the HDMI stream, while the network stream from RPPC is 1) limited to 720 unless on PS4 pro and 2) compressed and looking really bad if there are getting in some issues with the network. in comparison you cant do keyboard and mouse for PS4 over Network (aside from very simple things because the official remote play reacts to the arrow key and enter and some other key to give basic navigation and cross/circle keys) and in my experience there are a lot of ppl asking in the forum or the chat on why the kb/mouse is so bad and whatnot in contrast to hw encoding.

    just my personal opinion though.
